"In the dawn our monuments dissolved..."
LOCRIAN are prophetic voices of decline. The Chicago/Baltimore trio formed in 2005, as a duo of André Foisy (guitar) and Terence Hannum (keyboards/vocals). From their beginning they comfortably straddled both the experimental and metal underground. Urban decay, environmental destruction, birth/death/re-birth, and post-apocalyptic themes weave there way throughout their releases. In 2009, the group expanded to a trio with the inclusion of renowned experimental musician Steven Hess (drums/electronics), beginning with their critically acclaimed album The Crystal World for Utech Records, a breakthrough release for the band.
The group has released a number of critically acclaimed albums, collaborative albums, and EPs, that have been praised by Pitchfork Media, the Chicago Tribune, Spin Magazine, and numerous other publications.
In 2011, the group signed with Relapse Records, which brought the group’s work to a much wider audience beginning with the rerelease of The Clearing (originally released on Fan Death Records) & The Final Epoch 2xCD. In Summer 2012, the group recorded their Relapse Records debut Return to Annihilation, an album that Pitchfork writer Grayson Currin claimed is the group’s “most provocative and engaging Locrian album to date.”

Sissy Spacek is a side project of American noise artist John Wiese and often includes Corydon Ronnau and Jesse Jackson. Based out of LA, Wiese often describes them as grindcore though their work more often features rapidly spliced samples and blistering noise. "Experimental collective (with aggressive noise, avant-garde, and post-punk leanings) formed by Tom Smith and Rat Bastard in 1991. A third member, Ben Wolcott, joined in 1993. Smith had previously been in the groups Boat Of, Pussy Galore, and Peach of Immortality. Bastard had been in Miami-based trio Scraping Teeth; Wolcott was a filmmaker and sound designer. Their debut release was 1994's "30-Minuten Mannercreme." Went on a three-year hiatus beginning in 2000, during which time Smith formed the "Actionist" ensemble Ohne, and Bastard focused on his Laundry Room Squelchers group. TLASILA reformed in 2003; recordings and tours have followed, and the line-up has grown to include all-star players including members of Sonic Youth and Sightings. Group's recordings combine elements of musique concrete, noise, heavy dub, and pervasive electronics to create often violent, but increasingly lyrical backdrops which frame vocalist Smith's literate, oddly disturbing croon."
