To: Pluto compilation now available online via Bandcamp
https://sedimentarts.bandcamp.com/releases
To: Pluto In July of 2015, the NASA satellite New Horizons imaged Pluto in an unprecedentedly close flyby. Mankind’s knowledge of what the Pluto system is will expand exponentially and yield exciting discoveries over the next days, months, and years. The fastest spacecraft ever launched, New Horizons has traveled more than nine years and three billion miles to reach its primary target. An entity of science fiction is being ushered into the realm of science, the mysterious is being made known, and another frontier is being surveyed. Will this be considered a "landmark" moment in history? What does this matter to us considering our current state of social and environmental affairs? Economic, racial, and personal inequality and injustice run rampant, wars continue to be waged, and this monumental achievement is steamrolled by normalcy.
In conjunction with the To: Pluto exhibition, Sediment is excited to release a curated collection of sound works and music that respond to the subject of the exhibition and the themes surrounding it. To address the time duration of the New Horizons’ flight from Earth to Pluto of 9 years, 5 months and 25 days, all tracks are 9 minutes, 5 seconds, and 25 milliseconds long.

LOCRIAN (Chicago IL/Relapse/Bloodlust!/Fan Death)
http://www.locrianband.com/
"In the dawn our monuments dissolved..."
LOCRIAN are prophetic voices of decline. The Chicago/Baltimore trio formed in 2005, as a duo of André Foisy (guitar) and Terence Hannum (keyboards/vocals). From their beginning they comfortably straddled both the experimental and metal underground. Urban decay, environmental destruction, birth/death/re-birth, and post-apocalyptic themes weave there way throughout their releases. In 2009, the group expanded to a trio with the inclusion of renowned experimental musician Steven Hess (drums/electronics), beginning with their critically acclaimed album The Crystal World for Utech Records, a breakthrough release for the band.
The group has released a number of critically acclaimed albums, collaborative albums, and EPs, that have been praised by Pitchfork Media, the Chicago Tribune, Spin Magazine, and numerous other publications.
In 2011, the group signed with Relapse Records, which brought the group’s work to a much wider audience beginning with the rerelease of The Clearing (originally released on Fan Death Records) & The Final Epoch 2xCD. In Summer 2012, the group recorded their Relapse Records debut Return to Annihilation, an album that Pitchfork writer Grayson Currin claimed is the group’s “most provocative and engaging Locrian album to date.”
