RE: ratward shut down.

You may have heard that the ratward crew were recently evicted from our building...
of course it has to do with money (and other stuff like property damages)...
BUT after meeting with our lawyer (who offered his help for free!) and negotiating with our landlord it has been decided that we may remain in the building only if we can pay $2000 by early April. Collectively we can cover most of the amount...working overtime, borrowing money, selling off belongings....but we still need help! we want to try whatever we can do to help raise the money to save our home!

HULK SMASH Hulk Smash is a two piece DIY band from Philadelphia that
plays it slow and low ...consist of 8 string bass (run through a few amp
setups), drums with triggers (playing samples of detuned drums and
explosions), ...both sing (through a processor that adds a chord to our
voices) and try to play keyboard pedalboards with (their) feet. This is
not all hulk smash is, but for now it is the easiest way to describe
(them).

BULLET TO CHILD started off the evening with their own brand of far flung electro free form jazz. i swear for a moment they got really poppy,like 80's nite on LSD.

MIX TAPE FOR ADRIAN came correct with some fcked up dance music that ended in a real life battle rap! Polar Bear wins!

SLIDE OF HAND was a hella funny one man performance parody rock schlock poo poo pee pee sing-a-long. long duck dong plays guitar?

NO-FI no comment! ughhh

KID CAMARO glitched it up real fine,even more abstract that last time. dance or go into a seizure,either way youre gonna move that body!

ABIKU finished off the nite with a really bombastic set. intense,dark synth-core anger.electronic hardcore punk is the new radness.

SHOW REPORT 01-10-04

MAD THANKS to eveyone who came out to the
Rat-Ward last SAT to support "non-conformist
music and outsider art"

KID CAMARO played a set of glitchy electro
dance-core of the highest calliber.

FERALCATSCAN summoned forth beautiful
ambient drones that built up into a frenzy of
avant-groove.

KHATE played her wonderful collection of
modified toy instruments,melding the sounds
into an intense mental scape.

36 noise-rocked the kitchen in a major
way,while in the back room HAPPY SCRAPPY:
HERO PUP blipped and bleeped thier way
through a set of synth mastery. The Mr. T
motivational video was a nice touch!

Then DJ PANIC played a record with a
hack-saw! 20 years from now all DJ's will play
records with hack-saws!

After that was HAZARDOUSLY GUADALUPE.
They win the most points for audience
participation! By the end of their set all their
instruments were taken over by
show-goers,so they just began to bang on
anything they could find in the kitchen!

IAN NAGOSKI was passed out drunk on my
couch,so BULLET TO CHILD took the floor
with their own eclectic brand of free-jazz
creamo.

What else? We just about broke even on the
keg (Thanks Grayson and Kelly!),sold some
hand-made t-shirts,scored a free Electro
Harmonix bass micro synth and a DD-5 digital
delay! (Thanks Sam!) I even sold a painting
and used the money to buy the bands
breakfast! so rad! Thanks to all the bands for
your great performances! Thanks to everyone
else who helped out! Happy Birth Day LUX!
