Rat Ward Radio is a monthly music podcast and live streaming radio show hosted by DJ Rat-Ward. Spinning a varied selection of rare underground music, mostly centered on DIY, private press and small label releases. DIY Post-Punk, Art Rock, Avant Pop, Minimal Synth, Rare Soul / Funk / Disco, Free Jazz, Noise, Experimental, etc.

In addition to Rat-Ward Radio, expect a variety of video posts and random live streams on the YouTube channel, including replays of Rat-Ward Radio episodes, mix tapes and the new free form "experimental" music stream

Rat-Ward Radio began in the summer of 2017 as a weekly radio broadcast on the local Soul / R&B station WCLM 1450 AM "The Heart And Soul Of Richmond". The program ran for only a few shorts months before the station finally shut it doors after 21 years of broadcasting in October 2017 (http://richmondfreepress.com/news/2017/dec/29/city-loses-last-independent-black-owned-radio-stat/). Consequently Rat-Ward Radio went silent, eventually to return in February 2018 as a monthly podcast style program available online through the Rat-Ward blog via Mixcloud.com (https://www.mixcloud.com/ratward/). Episodes were released sporadically throughout 2018 until it finally settled on a release date of first Mondays each month.
